Today I met with Joe Rodriguez, the CEO of the Heart of the City of McAllen Improvement Corp. This is the economic development "engine" for the central core of McAllen that initiated and has driven the "Entertainment District" which has become so popular with over 20 venues along 17th and Austin Streets in downtown McAllen. The exciting news today concerns the second annual McAllen new Year's "Bash." This second celebration of New Years will be bigger and better and will include a VIP party on the top of the new parking garage right next to the ball drop.
