My name is Ernie Arredondo, Director of Sales for the McAllen Convention and Visitors Bureau. I will be blogging updates on our Convention Sales Activity. We were really happy to beat other bigger Texas cities to bring the 2009 Texas State Chess Championships to McAllen. The competition will be held at the New McAllen Convention Center March 20-22, 2009. One-thousand players from Texas are expected to compete for trophies and university scholarships.
