McAllen Convention & Visitors Bureau

Yesterday we had our monthly meeting of the "Hospitality Forum." This was one of the best yet. We met with the most significant hotels in the region and our speaker was Patricia Griffin, the CEO of "Green Hotel Association." Patricia gave a most informative presentation, the key point of which is that if hotels save water, electricity, and haul less trash they can make more money. Hotels love hearing ideas about how to save money. She also demonstrated how many hotel guests prefer responsible properties so this actually helps them build business too! I've never seen this group take so many notes! This was a great kick-off to our "McAllen Green Hotel program." I think we will see many local hotels join the Chamber's program and gain the recognition they deserve.
